About Us

How We Met

(Written and performed by Jinger)

September 14th, 2010, was a day like any other, but also like no other day since. It was Jinger’s 24th birthday, and she was in a foul mood. Having just come from an evening of rehearsing for her role as Rosencrantz in Hamlet (a modern retelling, of course), she was coerced to a dive bar with her long-time bestie, Misty.

Seated at the bar, drink in hand, Jinger observed a handsome young man enter the bar. Shortly thereafter, said young man posited himself across the bar and waited for the right moment to strike. “Is that a Long Island?”, she heard the young man say. “Nope. Vodka Redbull.”, she replied grumpily. Handsome Young Man moved to the seat next to her, much to her chagrin. “It’s my birthday,” she mumbled. He countered with, “NO WAY. I don’t believe you! Prove it.” Bemused, she pulled her driver’s license out of her bag and showed him. “That is not a bad picture!”, he said. She knew this was a lie. Her formerly short, pink hair was certainly a look, but not a good one.

Handsome Young Man introduced himself. “Steve.” Steve was very cute and very charming; quickly diving into his entire life story complete with laughter and tears. Jinger was immediately smitten. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Nightingale Motel

If you’re looking for something a little bit different, The Nightingale Motel is an adorable alternative. Friday evening’s welcome/rehearsal dinner is being held at their hotel bar, The Neon Mallard!

Pagosa Springs also has a terrific selection of VRBO’s and AirBnB’s to choose from, if a home-away-from-home is more your vibe!

Registry?

Since we’ve been together for approximately 9,634 years, we don’t really have the need for traditional registry gifts! In lieu of this, we have a couple of cash fund options here, or please feel free to make us something awesome, find something that reminds you of us, write us a sweet note, donate to a charity in our names, or simply don’t feel pressured to give us anything at all (we won’t hold it against you, we promise!).

F.A.Q

Q: Is there a dress code?

A: “Funky Formal” is our theme. While we don’t wish to make anyone to wear something too far outside their comfort zone, we sure would love it if everyone tried!

Q: But guys, what does “Funky Formal” even mean?

A: That’s a great question and we’re so glad you asked! Think sequins, discos, velvet and florals. Here’s a Pinterest board we created for you to peruse if you’re still confused!

Q: Is there an airport closer than Denver?

A: Yes! There is an airport in Durango, CO (about an hour East of Pagosa) that has a decent selection of flights. Additionally, Albuquerque, NM has an airport and is located about 3.5 hours South of Pagosa Springs if you’re looking for a shorter, yet also scenic experience.

Q: Are you cool with kids attending this shindig?

A: Are you joking? Of course we are! It would be pretty lame if we only allowed our kids, right?

Q: Most important questions: What are we eating and is there an open bar?

A: We will have an elevated taco bar catered by an amazing chef from Fort Collins + an open bar with wine, beer and cocktails crafted by our favorite Fort Collins bartenders!
